Laura Collier Belnap received her degrees from Utah State University and Western Governor’s University. She taught school in Logan, Utah and Loveland, Colorado where she was part of the state's math advisory committee and also established a school wide program for grouping students by ability, not age.
Laura helped establish online education in Davis district in 2002, working as the director of Utah Online Academies for three different school districts. She is currently the director of Utah Online Schools which have over 1300 students and 40 teachers and staff.
She has served on several different nonprofit boards including athletic and technology boards. She received the Soccer Mom of the Nation Award in 2002. She received the “Innovation in Education Award” in 2012 at an international conference. She also received Utah Champions of School Choice Award for leadership and support for public schools in 2013.
She schooled her children at home for more than 14 years which changed her life and her relationship with her children. She also branched out and coached volleyball and basketball at the local junior high.
Laura is active in legislative, community and religious causes. She graduated from Bountiful High school and married her high school sweetheart Eric Belnap. Laura is the proud mother of six children who were raised in Davis County and also has 3 beautiful grandchildren.
She appreciates the opportunity that Washington County School District gives students in the state of Utah.

Annett Eiting graduated from Weber State before it was a university. She received her master’s degree in education from Utah State University. She taught junior high for twelve years; the subjects she taught were English, math, and physical education. While teaching public school, she coached basketball, volleyball and track. Her favorite sport to coach and play is volleyball. She has been working with our online school since 2002.

Brooke Brown received her education from Brigham Young University. She has worked in various capacities within the Washington County School District including substituting in the classroom settings and in the district office. She has been with Utah Online School Utah since 2005 as the assistant to the director and has really enjoyed her involvement with the families and staff who work in this program.

Sara Souza graduated from Utah State University in 2005 with a dual major in special education and elementary education. She taught 2 ½ years as an elementary special education teacher for Washington County School District. She is the special education teacher for UOS and has been with the school since 2008.

Amy’s first job was in babysitting; the second was a paper route she shared with her siblings. While those jobs helped build her work ethic, neither job had a huge influence on her career choice. However, it was her third job, Office Assistant at Hope School, which would give her the insight to finalize her career choice. Hope School was designed to serve students with severe special needs.
After graduating from Dixie High School, Amy attended Dixie College where she got her Associate of Arts. From there she went to Southern Utah University where she received a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and Bachelor of Science in Special Education. She has been teaching mild to moderate special education since January 2004; starting her career in elementary and teaching secondary for the last two years.
Outside of school Amy and her husband, Joe, are usually found doing things with their three young sons. As a family they enjoy going to the park, swimming, building things, reading, and coloring. With any free time Amy finds she likes to read and create.

Randi Earl is the Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) for UOS. She graduated from Utah State University with a bachelor’s degree in Communicative Disorders and Deaf Education and a master’s degree in Speech Language Pathology. She is a member of ASHA (American Speech and Hearing Association), maintains a certificate of clinical competency (CCCs), and has worked for both Iron and Washington Counties providing speech and language services. She joined the staff of UOS in 2009.

Shannon Beatty holds a bachelor’s degree from BYU and a master’s degree from Utah State University, both in speech-language pathology. She is a member of ASHA and holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence. She is experienced in working with pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients with a variety of diagnoses in a medical setting as well as students in an educational setting.

Julie Baggaley graduated with honors from the University of Utah in elementary education. She taught preschool out of her home until 2007 when she joined UOS as a teacher. She was thrilled when she discovered K12 several years ago because she needed a way to individualize her own children's educations. She has used the K12 program with 2 of her 5 children and believes that it is the most wonderful program in the whole world.

Carolyn Black graduated from Brigham Young University with a degree in Elementary Education. She taught school in the Davis County School District for 8 years until her oldest son was born. She then had the privilege of staying home and teaching her 3 boys as they grew up. She has been with UOS since 2008.

Tara Criddle has been working with Utah Online since 2008. She received her education from Southern Utah University where she earned her teaching license in elementary education with a minor in reading. She has taught for the Washington County School District since 2005. In the traditional public school setting, she taught 3rd grade, reading interventions, parent literacy classes, and staff development.

Kathy Erickson is a graduate of Brigham Young University with degrees in elementary education and special education. She taught special education before serving an 18 month mission for her church in Mexico. After her 6 children were raised, she taught ESL (English as a Second Language) and then 2nd grade at Wood Cross Elementary. She has also taught preschool and has homeschooled her own children. She also teaches at the Farmington County Jail in Spanish and has taught literacy classes at a Salt Lake City battered women’s shelter. She has been with Utah Online since 2008.

Meagan Johnston has been working with Utah Online since 2007. She received her education from Southern Utah University where she earned her degree in elementary education with a minor in early childhood development. Summer Johnson graduated from Utah State University in 2006 where she earned her teaching license in elementary education with an emphasis in Language Arts. Her previous teaching experience include teaching 2nd and 4th grade at Century Elementary School in Bear River City and teaching for 2 1/2 years with Utah Virtual Academy. She has worked for Utah Online since 2013. Summer recently finished working on her Reading Endorsement through Southern Utah University. She is looking forward to another wonderful year with UOS!

Gloria Kelly graduated from Brigham Young University in elementary education, with minors in science and social science. She has taught 2nd & 5th grades in a formal classroom setting as well as instructed Indo-Chinese refugees in a Thailand transit camp, a more informal setting. She also has a master’s degree in educational administration, with an emphasis in community education. She is the mother of 3 and has homeschooled her youngest from pre-school through 8th grade, using the K12 curriculum for 7th and 8th grades. Had this curriculum been available to her earlier, she would have LOVED using it from kindergarten through 8th grade!!! Gloria has teaching endorsements in technology, gifted and talented, and is working to complete a reading endorsement as well. She has worked with UOS since 2005.

Jennifer grew up in Salem, Utah as the second of six children. She attended Utah State University, where she met her husband. Jennifer graduated with her degree in Elementary Education, with an emphasis in Language Arts. She taught grades 1 and 5 at Harris Elementary School in Tooele, Utah for 6 years before staying home with her own children. Jennifer is excited for the opportunity to work with the wonderful staff, students and families with UOS!

Kari Myers is the Reading Specialist for UOS. She attended Snow College and Utah State University where she studied Human Development and Social Work. She continued her education at USU and received her teaching certificate in Special Education and English as a Second Language. She taught Special Education in Utah and Arizona. She has taught reading, math, writing and social skills in a resource setting and has run a self-contained classroom unit for students with severe emotional disturbances. She began working for UOS in 2011.

She began teaching for UOS in 2012.

For many years she was away from the public scene raising (and teaching) her family of 5 daughters.
